A rich history of industry-leading innovation
Founded in 1975, Katena Premium Reusable Instruments is the brainchild of Kate Tiedemann. Kate left post-World War II Germany in 1955 speaking very little English. Over the course of the next two decades, Kate worked at three different microsurgical instrument companies before founding Katena. While many aspects of the Katena brand have changed over the last 5+ decades, the Katena brand still represents a commitment to excellence, exceptional quality, and valued surgeon partnerships.
