Capsulorrhexis Centration Technique
Watch as Rodney Kellen, MD of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, creates a perfectly sized and centered capsulorrhexis with the aid of Katena's Kellen CCC Marker (K3-7850 or K3-7852). This marker is designed for impressing a circular pattern on the cornea to serve as a guide for performing a 5.5 to 6mm diameter capsulorrhexis. The marker features a diameter marking ring with four symmetrically placed, non-marking pegs extending to the optic zone. A perfectly centered mark on the cornea is created by aligning the pegs with the limbus and gently pressing the ring onto the corneal surface. Using this mark as a guide, the surgeon can produce a centered, predictably sized continuous curvilinear capsulorrhexis.

Donnenfeld Femto Splitter by Katena Products
Eric Donnenfeld, MD has designed a splitter to compliment modern cataract femtosecond ablation techniques. The paracentral curve in the shaft exactly matches the shape of a laser created central nuclear bowl providing optimal surface contact for efficiently splitting the lens out to the periphery and down to the posterior plate. The Donnenfeld Femto Splitter improves nuclear chopping with minimal manipulation. You can order this instrument from Katena products, and you can order it online today!
