Sterile, disposable; holds a 14-18mm donor corneal graft and used to cut from the epithelial side
The Barron Artificial Anterior Chamber is designed to help reduce surgically induced astigmatism. Since most PK techniques involve cutting the recipient cornea from the epithelial side and the donor cornea from the endothelial side, there are inherent differences in the angles of the cuts.
These differences, although small, can contribute to slight mismatches and subsequent surgically induced astigmatism. The Barron Artificial Anterior Chamber allows the surgeon to safely retain and inflate the donor cornea for cutting the button from the epithelial side. By cutting the recipient and donor corneas from the same direction, a near perfect match is acheived resulting in a dramatic reduction in surgically induced astigmatism.

One instrument easily marks both the recipient and donor corneas in a single step. Simply suture the dots to achieve a precise and rapid running 24 bite anti torque closure. Special center point provides exact alignment for perfectly symmetrical suture placement.
