The Barron Radial Vacuum Trephine utilizes a vacuum to hold the recipient cornea against the trephine during a corneal transplant procedure. The vacuum is created using a hand-operated syringe and does not need an auxiliary vacuum system. Product comes completely assembled, includes syringe.
The use of a stabilizing vacuum causes the cornea to be held in its natural contour, thereby producing a perpendicular incision in the cornea to provide an optimal recipient opening for donor tissue.
One instrument easily marks both the recipient and donor corneas in a single step. Simply suture the dots to achieve a precise and rapid running 24 bite anti torque closure. Special center point provides exact alignment for perfectly symmetrical suture placement.
